Ludovic Collingwood (“Ludo”) was born in France in 1968, his family emigrated to Australia in 1972 where he currently resides.

Ludo has built his career as a full time artist since 1985. Being concerned about the depletion of native species and habitats both in his homeland of Australia as well as in America, Ludo work focuses on wildlife.

Ludo is passionate about nature and is a keen photographer and birdwatcher.  These close observations of living creatures and the natural environment enable Ludo to produce the most intricately detailed oil paintings that accurately depict the animals and birds physiology and unique characteristics while still bringing out a poignant sense of humor.

My wife and I first stumbled on Ludo’s work in 2010, when we visited the Australis Art Gallery in Kuranda, Queensland owned by Claudia and Jean Collingwood, Ludo’s parents.

Below are some of Ludo’s original works I collected over the years.
