Achilidae is a family of planthoppers, sometimes called “achilids”. The family consists of about 160 genera and 520 described. Achilidae is distributed worldwide, with centers of diversity in the tropics and south temperate regions. Members of Achilidae are identified by the forewings overlapping distally and most are dorsoventrally flattened.
